The short version
Palworld is the survival game: build bases, catch Pals, fight raids and bosses, and run servers with up to 32 people. Palfarm takes the same world and Pals and swaps the survival loop for a farming life sim: crops, seasons, villagers, a market, and a farm your Pals work with you. The trailer makes clear the dark humor stays, hostile Pals still raid your farm and a merchant will still sell you a gun.
The server question
This is the practical difference today. Palworld has official dedicated servers and a mature hosting market, you can rent a Palworld server right now. Palfarm has confirmed multiplayer but no announced server model, so nothing is rentable yet. Is Palfarm a DLC or a separate game?
Palfarm is a standalone game with its own Steam page, not a DLC or expansion. You will not need to own Palworld to buy or play it.
Is Palfarm replacing Palworld?
No. Palworld reached its 1.0 release in July 2026 and continues to get updates. Palfarm is a spin-off set in the same universe, developed alongside it.
Which one can I play right now?
Only Palworld. It is out now, and you can rent a Palworld server today. Palfarm has no release date yet.
Will my Palworld Pals or progress carry over to Palfarm?
Nothing has been announced about any connection between Palworld and Palfarm saves. Treat them as fully separate games unless Pocketpair says otherwise.
